I would rather see a convicted capital murderer sit in solitary confinement, with fewer appeal possibilities than the death sentence provides, and never be given the chance to receive any new notoriety and not even the chance to know when he or she is going to die.
I am not a death penalty proponent. But the Carr brothers are poster children for why we need the death penalty. If a dog is rabid, with no chance to be cured, it should be put down. So should these two.
What is wrong with these figures? The USA has 5 percent of the world’s population, 25 percent of the world’s prison population and 50 percent of the world’s privately owned handguns.

Between Sam Brownback’s disdain for the poor and disabled and Kris Kobach’s disdain for voters, we need a total overhaul in Topeka. Let us pray for mass resignations in Kansas state government. Amen.
Brownback is a real piece of work. He’d rather drive the state off the cliff than just admit those huge tax breaks are not working. Everyone tries different things, but sometimes they don’t work. Simply admit the experiment didn’t work and get this state on the right track again.
It’s understandable why our political elite want America to emulate Europe, given the immense power they can acquire. Europeans descended from serfs, with little power then or now. Why would Americans sacrifice freedom to become as subservient as Europeans?
Republicans in the U.S. House are fighting for leadership positions, and Democrats love it. It keeps those vast right-wing conspiracy questions about boring e-mails out of the news.
To the person stating his doctor wants to see him more often now that he is on Medicare: Why do you participate if you are not ill? If you continue to participate in unneeded doctor visits, you are just as guilty of Medicare fraud as your doctor.
