Tuition costs at Kansas Board of Regents universities may have finally reached levels that discourage enrollment growth.

The Republicans in the Kansas Legislature and Gov. Sam Brownback are so inept that they even managed to bungle the hiring of an efficiency expert.

What’s the matter with Kansas? Legislators being re-elected if they just vote against gun control, abortion, gays and illegals. The single-issue voters in this coalition are so angry they can’t see the issues that affect themselves most directly – repressive taxes, defunding public schools and public safety.

The thought of a wild-eyed, disillusioned student loose on campus with a gun is scary. The thought of all of the students loose on campus with guns is even scarier.

Why have I only heard from one source that the mass killer at an Oregon community college was a satanist?

Some of the people (Obama) yelling the loudest for gun control are protected by armed security.

If the solution to the gun problem is more guns, then the solution to the immigration problem must be more immigrants and the solution to the poverty problem is more poor people.

The ultimate aim for ISIS is to transform Europe into a Muslim nation. What better way than to create chaos and force migration of its own people into Europe and the rest of the world? Soon the new arrivals will prosper and multiply, and Europe will transform from Christian to Muslim.

Democratic socialism is our only hope. It works and history has proved it. It doesn’t work for the greedy 1 percent, which is why they are fighting it with massive amounts of money.

Bernie Sanders seems to be the only candidate who understands how the country was supposed to run.

I am Catholic and I am anti-abortion all the way. The Carr brothers are a different topic. This is when I approve of capital punishment.

Who really believes that the Kansas Supreme Court is aggressively blocking the death penalty for any reason other than the justices’ personal religious dogma?

I have a great idea for a lower-cost Eisenhower memorial. How about a statue of Ike, standing next to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, with a plaque stating, “I started this war”?

On a recent trip east, I heard the stewardess say, “Wichita Eisenhower is my favorite airport. I must book flights there more often.” Our new airport is beautiful. We can stand proud.
