Opinion Line Extra (Oct. 7)

You live behind walls and you work behind walls. Now you want to build more walls. When have walls ever equated to anything good or progressive?

The U.S. has managed to destroy millions of unborn babies. Now people want to bring in illegals and not account for them? I guess when you play God you have to make up for a population somehow to regain votes in a particular party.

Which is worse? Believing a dishonestly edited video that claims as truth what has been shown to be false? Knowing the falsehood of the video and acting as if it were true anyway? Or being unable to distinguish between the truth and the false claims made in the dishonest video?

I wonder how much black and Hispanic lives would matter to the Democratic Party if they didn’t consistently and overwhelmingly vote Democrat. Mark that down for “undocumented voters” as well.

I do not care what political party you are from. If you vote to shut down the federal government over a single issue, regardless of what that issue is, you have violated the Constitution. You no longer qualify to hold your position and must resign immediately.

It is really too bad that negativity sells the news. We miss so much good that surrounds us daily.

True charity is an anonymous act. Anything else is paid advertising. Sure, the recipients of the charity want to acknowledge the donor publicly in an effort to solicit even more donations, but any donor with even a small measure of class would insist on anonymity.

Two fallacies: We cannot love someone who does things we disagree with; if we love someone we must agree with everything he does.

I hesitate to say something nice on Opinion Line, and I couldn’t care less about high school sports, but I congratulate the news media for their meticulous coverage of all such events.
