Opinion Line (Oct. 3)

Wouldn’t it be nice to wake up tomorrow and read in the newspaper that Congress was missing?

I thought Germans in the ’30s were dumb. They let Hitler take away all their rights and freedoms in the name of security. Americans have allowed this process to happen here. Wake up, America. Stand up for yourselves.

The Muslim States of America. I hope I’m dead before it happens.

Condoleezza Rice would be an excellent president.

In the 1960s one could walk into any pawnshop in Wichita and, for $15, buy a small-caliber revolver, no questions asked. Yet there were no mass shootings and few armed robberies. So don’t blame crime on the easy availability of firearms. America is beginning to reap what we have sown.

Another mass use of guns for death. I suppose the NRA will issue new warnings for every citizen to carry five guns. I expect Gov. Sam Brownback to call for the law immediately.

The Governor’s Office said in an e-mail: “With work comes dignity ... and a boundless future.” That reminds me of “Arbeit Macht Frei.”

Just before the 2014 elections, people said that if I voted Democratic it would be the ruination of Kansas. But I ignored their warnings and voted Democratic and, sure enough, we have experienced the ruination of Kansas.

Has anyone seen Pat Roberts in Kansas since the election?

Typical Kris Kobach supporter: “We was in Overland Park” to see him and “we was in the second row.” We is stupid.

Liberals should be more worried about poor voter IQ than no voter ID.

Negative reports of student conditions and safety. Rising tuition rates. A dorm built in a parking lot. The use of the golf course for corporations instead of student housing. The instructors who can’t speak so they can be understood. Why is WSU enrollment down?

Wouldn’t it be easier if Mom or Dad stayed with the kids instead of both going to Wal-Mart with all the kids running around blocking the aisles? If you both go, then control your kids.

Hats off to Sherry, a clerk at the North Oliver postal station. She was more than helpful when I was mailing a package and they had no “official” boxes the right size. She found one.

It was lovely weather for the McPherson Scottish Festival last weekend. Great food and entertainment. Too bad more Wichita people don’t seem to know about this event.
