If the pope spoke to John Boehner and he quit, will someone please make the pope an appointment with Mitch McConnell?
Boehner resigning was the best thing that ever happened. He wasn’t on the Republican side. I think he and Obama had secret deals. Now, Republicans, let’s get someone in place who will help turn things around. We have wasted way too much time.
Obama will go down in history as one of our greatest presidents, if only because of the total ruination of this country should conservatism win in 2016.
Donald Trump’s new tax plan would exempt many low-income Americans from paying taxes. That stinks. I want everyone to pay something, even 1 percent, so that everyone has skin in the game and we can all unite and complain loudly.
I have serious doubts as to whether Trump would make a good president. However, I have no doubt that if he were the head of the VA or the Postal Service, he would turn these bureaucratic disasters into effective and efficient agencies.
Do the Clintons seriously believe they can blame Hillary’s e-mail mess on the GOP and the press? No one forced Hillary to establish her own server in her house and conduct transmissions outside the government system. No one forced her to be untruthful about what happened as a result.
The House Education Committee chairman (Rep. Ron Highland, R-Wamego) wants to ask the janitor to identify the best teacher in the building. Do you suppose it will be the teacher who maintains the cleanest classroom and thus leaves less work for the janitor? How ridiculous can these clowns get?
Do we really need a police chief in Wichita since we’ve survived an entire year without one?
Why did City Manager Robert Layton pick Terri Moses as one of the three finalists if he thought her “skill set” was not sufficient for the police chief job? Numerous candidates submitted resumes. I cannot believe that not one other resume held an acceptable skill set. It’s manager inefficiency.
The finalists’ interaction with the community at the public forum was crucial in determining whether they could do the job. Moses did not do well, and it was obvious then that her leadership would not create the needed trust between the department and the community. Layton did the right thing.
Parents should have better sense than to take babies and dogs to the drag races. The decibel level has to be off the chart. If they continue to do it, the track management should ban the parents and dog owners.
