Opinion Line Extra (Nov. 10)
In the next election, separate the sales tax proposals into four separate items. You will get the water and the bus parts. I have my doubts about the roads. And the jobs part was a poison pill. Don’t get carried away and you will get what we really need.
The propensity of Kansas voters to inflict punishment on themselves is again manifested by the re-election of the Republican leadership. Somehow, some way, the pending budget crisis will have to be paid for, and it won’t be by the wealthy nor the business owners.
Now, will anyone get to the source of the endorsement of Pat Roberts by coach Bill Snyder and demand a revote? Or since the Republican won will it just be forgotten? Snyder could have influenced the outcome. He has great credibility, and used to be respected by me, too.
The definition of insanity: re-election of Sam Brownback, Kris Kobach, Pat Roberts. Kansas is doomed due to the utter stupidity of its voters. Good job, Kansans, good job.
Well, Sam Brownback has won the election. Now we can sit back and watch the state of Kansas crumble into ruin.
Four more years. Bummer.
Now I believe Kris Kobach. If he got re-elected, there has to be rampant voter fraud in Kansas.
There must be voter fraud. The Republicans swept the election. Let’s get Kobach right on it.
Kansas will officially be an extension of Oklahoma and Texas now. There is just not any reason left to complain. We voted Kris Kobach back in office. Paint it red.
So Kobach won by 18 percent – not even close. I guess Kansas voters say it’s easy to get a photo ID in order to vote.
Jean Schodorf and Jill Docking: Please, please, pretty please run again in future elections. Republican candidates love beating you again and again.
Borrowing a quote from the Democrats: “The voters have spoken. Deal with it.”
Once again the editorial board of The Eagle demonstrated that it is totally out of touch with the majority of Kansas voters.
This was the first election I ever saw all the people I voted for get elected, except for the two judges I wanted recalled. I wonder how Mike Pompeo and Ron Estes felt when they looked at The Eagle endorsements; maybe like the token Republicans.
The main idea of the Peter Principle in Obama’s government is simple. This means people will inevitably be promoted to a position for which they are ill-suited, to the level of their incompetence.
Democrats enjoy scolding and lecturing Republicans on every subject. Last Tuesday the electorate responded by voting out the incompetent Democrats and their dangerous schemes.
