Opinion Line (Sept. 23)

I wonder if Commissioners Richard Ranzau, Karl Peterjohn and Jim Howell realize that although only 76 percent of Sedgwick County residents are Wichita citizens, 100 percent of Wichita residents are Sedgwick County citizens. We are all taxpayers, so try a little respect for Wichita citizens and their contribution.

The city manager blew his chance in not hiring Terri Moses as police chief. One has to wonder if he doesn’t have a bias toward hiring from outside, since he is also an outsider. It is a mistake to believe that an expert has to come from another state.

I don’t understand conservative Christians not wanting to help Syrian refugees. Have you read anything Jesus said?

The One World elites tell us we need to let Syrians in as refugees. If terrorists actually exist, certainly some will come with them. The elites’ real goal seems to be: destroy Syria with war, destroy America with refugees.

Obama makes plans for 85,000 more refugees. Our country is broke and can barely maintain itself. But fire up those money-printing machines and worry about that some other time. America, home of the free, governed by idiots.

We should take in as many refugees as China and North Korea take in.

When the GOP shuts down the U.S. government and costs billions of dollars and damages our economy in order to defund Planned Parenthood, will our elected U.S. legislators do the honorable thing and return their paychecks to the Treasury?

Anyone who has viewed the horrific Planned Parenthood videos and continues to defend its barbaric actions has lost touch with his humanity.

Donald Trump is like Krusty the Clown. He used up all of his A-material in the first five minutes of his act.

The idea of extended warranties is a racket that’s gotten out of hand. If a store can’t guarantee a product for more than 14 days to a month, or even 80 days, it shouldn’t be selling the product.
