Opinion Line Extra (Nov. 7)
Prediction: When the 114th Congress begins Jan. 5, Mitch McConnell will clear Harry Reid’s desk by putting pending legislation in a different bottom drawer. After that, nothing much will happen until 2035 at the earliest.
Obama’s claim that he is listening to the two-thirds of us who were too apathetic to vote is outrageous. He evidently forgot that “elections have consequences.” He has to be the most arrogant person in the world – ever.
Obama is purposely misreading the election results. Voters turned the Senate over to the GOP not for a Republican compromise with the president to “get things done” but to stop his agenda.
Our president is just a paper tiger. He never had a struggle to succeed. An expert at gaming the system, he is now realizing what the real world is about, a world in which you have to really know stuff to be successful.
In spite of The Eagle editorial board’s pounding on Republicans for the last two years, most of the people it touted lost. What does that say about its liberal propaganda?
Well, Pat Roberts, Sam Brownback and Kris Kobach all got re-elected. The new signs should be up around the state lines soon: “Welcome to Kansas. Please set your watch back 25 years.”
It wasn’t the bashing in the Opinion Line that energized the Republican voting base. It was the fact that voters don’t know enough not to cut off their own noses to spite their faces. They too will experience the ramifications of four more years of Brownback, Roberts and Kobach.
Pat Roberts won decisively, yet he couldn’t even be gracious in his victory speech. What a disappointment.
I’d have a lot more respect for Republicans in Kansas if they didn’t keep electing a deadbeat candidate like Pat Roberts. He takes a paycheck but doesn’t show up for the job. Is he really the best the Republicans have to offer? Shameful.
I’m sending my purple K-State sweatshirt back to coach Bill Snyder. The team’s color will probably be switching to red soon anyway.
Well, it looks like the good salt-of-the-earth Kansans were not fooled by the city slicker who came to town.
To all the people 65 and older who voted for Sam Brownback and Ken Selzer: Do not complain when your medical coverage is gutted.
Can you be pro-life and not help the poor and elderly to get good health care?
Well, now all you liberals can stop your worthless campaigning and start your spinning.
So if we have another water shortage, do we borrow $10 million from the zoo elephants? Or just stop watering them?
