Opinion Line (Nov. 7)

After the midterm elections, it’s quite apparent that the givers and suppliers in this country have had their fill of the takers and the users.

Election results: different clowns, same circus.

Clearly the winner on election night was money – lots of money. Where did it come from? For much of it, no one knows. Clearly the loser was the U.S. political system, sold to the highest bidders.

Polls are wrong because conservatives are less likely to waste time with them, but liberals never tire of telling everyone how superior they think they are.

Maybe it is time to get the Democrat bias out of the polling methods.

Maybe now the American people will finally learn the truth about the IRS, Benghazi and Bowe Bergdahl.

I hope the minority Democrats in the Senate put up every possible impediment and obstacle to whatever the majority Republicans want to do – just as the Republicans did when they were the minority.

The GOP elephants retained their hold on Kansas Tuesday. A zoo elephant died on Wednesday. What a sad week.

Congratulations to the Koch brothers. They now own a state. Paid cash up front for it, too.

I hope Sam Brownback and Pat Roberts realize that they didn’t win because a majority really wants them. Brownback barely won at all, and Roberts won because he was the less problematic choice.

The one thing I took away from Tuesday’s election is just how out of touch Kansas’ newspaper editors are with their readership.

Liberals, Democrats, media: You lost. Put on your big-boy pants and get on with life.

Congratulations to Jennifer Baysinger, who successfully articulated the message to the voters regarding the city sales tax proposal. A message has been sent to city leadership that we want and expect transparency in how our tax dollars are spent.

Boeing announced a replacement for the 737 Max. I wonder if it will be built by Spirit AeroSystems, or Boeing will go elsewhere. With so many states offering incentives, and with us unable to pass a five-year, 1-cent sales tax, you can’t fault anyone for leaving Wichita.

Reading the Opinion Line makes me realize just how bitter people are. Be careful that you don’t turn into a pickle, being that sour.
