Opinion Line Extra (Nov. 6)

It turns out Pat Roberts didn’t need those seven or eight votes from those whiny so-called Republicans, the ones who just could not vote for him this year. Nor did he need the endorsement of The Wichita Eagle.

Roberts can go back to his home in Virginia and relax, knowing that he won’t have to visit Kansas for another six years. Sometimes the voters of Kansas just amaze me.

Roberts apparently will use anyone in any fashion to further himself politically, whether he has the person’s OK or not. It shows a true lack of character.

Why run a basically innocuous story about Bill Snyder endorsing Roberts, but ignore Greg Orman implying that former Sen. Bob Dole and some other Republican leaders are a bunch of clowns?

How can a governor with such low approval ratings get re-elected? I guess the old adage that “it is better to vote for the devil you know than the devil you don’t know” is still true. Pretty sad, isn’t it?

It looks like the liberal media tactic of endorsing left-leaning candidates failed to sway a strong, conservative Kansas voting base. Pat Roberts and Sam Brownback: You have no excuse for not getting this country and state back into shape. Get off your duffs and get to work.

Now that Jean Schodorf has lost an election as both a Republican and a Democrat, will she become an independent?

When an elderly lady was asked why she voted for the incumbent, who was clearly the worst choice for the job, she answered, “If a man ain’t ruined when he goes in to office, he’s ruined when he comes out and there ain’t no reason to ruin a good man.” Is this your thinking, Kansas?

I voted a straight Republican ticket on Tuesday to send a message to Obama, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi and the dishonest liberal media.

African-Americans vote for Democrats over and over, which is the definition of insanity when their numbers of unemployed just keep going up. If they’d help get us a Republican president, we could get that fixed.

We know miracles still happen because Illinois, a place where dead people vote multiple times, elected a Republican governor.

I had a good time lying to the pollsters on whom I was going to vote for. It is none of their business. Everybody should do it, because it will make elections more interesting and hard for them to try and sway your vote.

Those annoying political commercials are finally over. Now we’re back to the Super Car Guy, the Sonic boys, Rusty Eck, Spangles and other ads. On second thought, I don’t know which is worse – political ads or the junk commercials we are subjected to by the locals.
