Opinion Line Extra (Sept. 21)
I would vote for Carly Fiorina in a minute but never Hillary Clinton, whose support for us women seems to be mainly for free contraception and unlimited abortion. Start thinking above the waist, Hillary.
Donald Trump is free to say whatever he wants, no matter how insulting, because he’ll have Rush Limbaugh play apologist and spin doctor for Trump’s hateful statements the next day. Trump’s attack on Fiorina proved it once again.
We currently have one colossal failure sitting in the White House. We don’t need another such as Fiorina, who was a failure at every company she attempted to run. But I will give her credit for having a job. That’s far more than Obama ever did.
I don’t like Trump. But next to that bunch of religious zealots, wannabe dictators and liars on stage with him, he is beginning to look like a reasonable man.
During the Republican debate, Jeb Bush claimed his brother kept America safe. Really? Who was the president when the World Trade Center was attacked? Oh, I remember, his brother.
Hey, you Republican presidential hopefuls: You ain’t no Ronald Reagan.
While Republican candidates traded barbs and fictions in a “debate,” on PBS a group of intrepid, adventurous young anthropologist women retrieved bones of early man, through very narrow passages, from a deep cavern in South Africa. What a contrast.
Ironically, the Fed will support people who want to increase their debt while showing no support to people saving some money.
As someone who receives oil revenues, I am torn between what a war with Iran will mean for this country and what that war will mean for sagging oil royalties.
For more than half a century, many of the world’s resources, in form of petrodollars, have migrated to the Middle East. Surely there are more than enough resources in the Middle East to take care of its own displaced migrants.
Interesting – I just read that all taxpayers in Kansas owe $154,000. You know, because of government overspending. That’s how it works: I work hard, pay all my bills, build credit, and now they figured you and I owe more taxes? Budget within your means. No more spending, government.
It is precisely because I do think for myself that I see the climate change alarmism for what it is: a devious scam perpetrated by leftists to take down America’s mighty industrial output.
If the Army wants Bowe Bergdahl to go to prison, I’ll be the first in line to pay for his bus ticket.
I’m a high school teacher, and even some of my best students admit they’re not motivated to do well in school. Merit pay sounds good, but my greatest reality check since starting my career is that there’s a big difference between an imaginary class and a real one.
