Opinion Line (Sept. 21)
In the last debate, Jeb Bush received his loudest applause for saying that his brother kept America safe. Who does he think was president on Sept. 11, 2001? Pinocchio?
I don’t understand Republican voters. Why consider voting for Donald Trump when we already have a lying narcissist in the White House? Whenever Trump says something inappropriate, later he says he didn’t mean what we all heard.
By not clearly stating that vaccines save lives and do not cause autism, physician Ben Carson showed that he too puts politics above truth. Is he hoping to be Trump’s running mate?
I look forward to electing Bernie Sanders our next president. The others don’t stand a chance.
Ban union money from politics.
The New Deal helped create our bankrupt entitlement society. World War II ended the Depression. Abortion gave us dead minority babies, and gay marriage redefines a 2,000-year tradition that held families together. Our society needs a respite from liberal ideas.
How long is it going to take conservatives who blamed Obama for high gas prices to shift into blaming him for the huge layoffs in the oil industry due to low gas prices?
We do not need any refugees in this country. We have enough people we cannot take care of. The refugees and illegals are being treated better than our veterans. Shame.
It is a moral imperative for all nations to provide refuge to the Syrians fleeing for their lives. At the same time it is the moral duty of these refugees to identify and help to eradicate those in their midst bent on jihad.
Our leaders led us into war in the Middle East and Afghanistan with short-term thoughts and destabilized the area. Look at the refugee crisis we have helped bring to Europe and, soon, to the our shores. And we have the highest-paid politicians in the world.
I wonder if a Catholic white boy with a homemade clock would have been invited to the White House.
I’m sorry, but in this era, people who show up at a school with something that looks like a homemade bomb should anticipate unpleasant consequences. It’s nice when smart kids also have enough common sense to not behave stupidly. I’m glad that school chose to play it safe.
Imagine the outrage had the clock actually been a bomb, and no one did anything about it.
