Opinion Line Extra (Sept. 16)

If Kim Davis worked for anyone but a government entity she would have been fired the minute she refused to perform her job, and rightfully so.

Why can’t Davis simply quit her job to honor God? Because she is an opportunist inserting herself into an issue already settled by the court, seeking to cash in on the religious right’s homophobia by being its outspoken cause celebre.

I heard a guy who claims he can make all Americans prosperous and successful, and transform the U.S. into a nation that will win so often we will get tired of it. Do you want to hear from another empty suit politician who will say anything to get elected? Listen to Trump.

Some American elected politicians believe we should accept thousands of refugees from the Middle East, some of whom are hell-bent on America’s destruction. Unbelievable. There is no way to assure America they are peace-loving. And the politicians want to let ’em in?

Regarding the Iran deal and the danger Republicans say it represents to us and our allies, everyone needs to remember that these same Republicans said that 6 million would lose their insurance coverage once Obamacare went into effect.

Obama’s promises about the Iran thing being a good deal sound just like Bill Clinton’s deal with North Korea in 1994. Doesn’t North Korea have nukes now? Expect the same result from this “good deal.”

An aide to New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo was shot in the head when he was caught in a crossfire between gangs. The murder rate in New York City rose as Democrats began endlessly criticizing law enforcement. This is the fruit from that tree.

I would be willing to bet and offer large odds that Fair Tax opponents all pay taxes. To say that they don’t demonstrates an appalling lack of knowledge of how the government generates revenue.

Football concussions result from the brain colliding with the skull. No amount of helmet technology can prevent this. Helmets are meant to prevent skull fractures. That’s it. The NFL is going to tout helmet technology as the answer to its concussion crisis. Don’t be fooled by the smoke and mirrors.

Have people forgotten who started the K-State band fiasco? K-State fans attending the game blew up social media laughing at the lewd act. Not KU. Why have the ship go into the mouth, not the stomach? Why depict another school’s mascot?

Are all you anti-KSU perverts offended by the comic strips “WuMo” (Sept. 10 Eagle) and “Bizarro” (Sept. 11 Eagle)? Maybe not quite anatomically correct, but surely close enough to raise red flags in your sicko imaginations.

Interesting how 25 percent of Monday’s Eagle was dedicated to sports. Since the sports page is of no interest to me, it makes for a very quick read.
