Opinion Line Extra (Sept. 15)

There are still plenty of vultures circling Donald Trump, but only one, Jeb Bush, is playing the part of Captain Ahab and actually trying to kill the great white whale.

Obama and every single member of Congress, whether Democrat, Republican or independent, had better start listening to Trump, because he is saying what every true citizen of this country is thinking and wants. We want the border-crossing criminals removed from the United States now.

Jeb Bush sounds and unfortunately looks just like his daddy and brother. They are the other two war lovers who left this country in a recession. Bush me once, Bush me twice, Bush me....

Democrat candidates for president include 67-year-old Hillary Clinton and 74-year-old Bernie Sanders, who soon will be joined by 72-year-old Joe Biden. When did the party of hope and change become the party of old career politicians who haven’t had an original idea in 30 years?

Is Clinton’s latest campaign “reset” just another one of her many lies?

Scott Walker’s voter support is so shallow he can’t make a splash no matter how hard he tries, so he has nothing to lose in going off the deep end with his corporate-loving, union-busting proposals. I hope he sinks straight to the bottom, never to be heard from again.

Obama has failed to enforce not only immigration laws but also federal marijuana laws.

That small Kentucky county where the clerk refuses to issue marriage licenses to gay couples must be about out of gay couples. Or, are they coming from other counties?

Say a county clerk refuses to register women to vote because of his religious beliefs. If you find that unacceptable, your support of Kim Davis is not upholding religious liberty, but is simply an expression of animosity toward gay and lesbian people.

Why don’t liberals pay for their own pet programs? How is it that they want others to pay for them? Because they have zero guts, zero convictions.

I respect columnist David Brooks. He’s right again when he explains how our political parties work, and how the voters think (Sept. 11 Opinion). Only this time I hope he is wrong, as we have had enough of politicians putting political party ahead of what’s good for the country and the world.

I watched a little of the Ole Miss football game Saturday. Now that the Confederate flag is universally considered a symbol of shameful racism, slavery and treasonous rebellion, why is the Ole Miss Rebel mascot not considered the same?

To the grandma whose grandkids are being sent home with instructions to solicit donations needed to pay expenses because of block grants: Seriously? They are being manipulated by the teachers union. There is the moral bankruptcy.
