Opinion Line Extra (Sept. 14)
Eight years of George W. Bush left us with the Great Recession. Eight years of Sam Brownback will leave the state bankrupt. I have an idea: All Republicans refrain from voting in 2016 and 2018. Think how great the country and the state would be.
Giving money and nuclear weapons to people who want to kill us is President Obama’s “most significant” foreign policy achievement? This is just pathetic.
The Democrats keep using that old theme of taxing the rich and trying to divide the rich against the poor. They need to try something else, because that one has gotten old. Whom do they think creates jobs for the poor?
People who buy their own health insurance, meaning Obamacare, face premium increases of up to 25.4 percent next year. Fortunately that only affects individuals, not the collective. Supposedly, those are precisely the people for whom Obamacare was invented.
Donald Trump: We have cunning and devious people deliberately destroying our government. They are not “stupid.”
Trump is a narcissist and egomaniac? Anyone who claims that cannot be taken seriously unless in the same breath they state that Obama is the biggest narcissist and egomaniac to ever take up space in the White House.
If Hillary Clinton couldn’t “stop and think” about her e-mail setup because “there was so much going on” when she was appointed secretary of state, what the heck would she do as president?
I agreed with the KSU band director’s comment that the flap over the marching formation has gotten “downright stupid.” We were with KU graduates on Sept. 5 and they acted like little kids. These graduates are in their late 20s. What is happening? Stupidity is being taught.
Nobody is “obsessed” with KU. It’s just a figment of your imagination.
What is KU so upset for? It’s football season. K-State gave you the only national recognition you will get.
I can’t believe all the carping about a college marching band performance. Seriously, people, we have much more important things going on in our country to be worried about.
I thought we banned having Shariah law so we wouldn’t have havens of one religion running a town. Oh, wait – in Chanute that is what people want to do.
Not being cowed into doing something that goes against one’s religious beliefs is not a phony objection. Besides, those on the left have been ignoring the laws they disagree with for years, like with immigration. Now that someone on the right is doing the same thing, the left is up in arms.
The lady whose story was featured in The Eagle about her ability to only make minimum wage needs to go into housecleaning work. Housecleaning workers in Winfield charge $15 to $30 an hour, depending upon whether or not they bring the supplies.
