Opinion Line Extra (Sept. 11)
How much support are we getting from Europe in handling millions of illegal immigrants from Mexico? Why should we pay for its immigration problems?
Baltimore settled with Freddie Gray’s family for $6.4 million. If it had gone to court, the maximum they could have received was $400,000. Another squandering of taxpayer dollars. But this looks genius compared with Obama’s nuclear negotiations with Iran.
Wow – to get paid $80,000 for not doing your job and telling others to not do theirs. Nice work if you can get it. Now all they need to do is explain why a county clerk makes 80 grand in the first place.
Do your job or step aside. Ignore the judge, go to jail and stay there. If you don’t get the whole “separation of church and state” thing, there are plenty of options other than the U.S. eager to fulfill your desire to live under the control of a theocracy.
Mike Huckabee is a traitor to this country and the Constitution. He’s the one who needs the lesson in history.
If “atheism, secular humanism, Darwinism and ‘gayism’ are just as much religions as any other,” then we change this country to reflect it. Let’s put that satanic statue on the Oklahoma Capitol grounds and offer “In God We Don’t Trust” license plates.
Someone said educated people are more liberal-minded because they are educated, while conservatives are uneducated. Campuses are inundated with liberal (not to mention self-described socialist, Marxist and communist) professors. The more intelligent students resist the attempted brainwashing, are able to think for themselves, and come to their own, often conservative conclusions.
Today’s lesson on education and worldviews: Educated people tend to be more conservative-minded because they are educated. Uneducated people tend to be more liberal because ignorance is bliss and they want to remain in their blissful state of mind.
Neoconservative legislators to the public: You can expect us to honor our promises to our most powerful supporters, and to spin the facts to make us look good. Just don’t expect us to be fair or compassionate.
Kansas State University’s band wouldn’t be in trouble if it just had hired Donald Trump to deny what we all knew was true.
If I were a KU fan I would be more concerned about winning a football game this year than what a marching band is performing at halftime.
K-State seems to consider KU its archrival. KU doesn’t bother to consider K-State.
We are generous with servers and forgiving of honest mistakes. Excellent service gets more than 20 percent from us. But having spent years as a server myself, I have little to no tolerance for lackadaisical, rude or otherwise bad service. Servers: You’re there to serve, remember?
