Opinion Line Extra (Sept. 10)

I don’t know what you saw during KSU’s halftime show, but I saw a Jayhawk during a game against the Coyotes. I think KSU fans need to see a psychiatrist for their obsession with KU.

I’m so naive that I wouldn’t have thought of the K-State halftime show as a sex act. Leave it to the dirty, filthy minds of many Kansans to think of it, though.

A national financial magazine listed the 50 best small towns. Colorado, Nebraska and Missouri each had one or more listed. Kansas didn’t.

Almost daily, Kansas conservatives in Topeka set a new bar for how wrong an ideology can be.

I hope the Kansas governor, secretary of state and the Legislature took Labor Day off. It would have been a tiny gift to the poor, the elderly, the sick and middle class if our Kansas government gave them a one-day cessation of their cruel and harmful legislative and political activities.

Republicans used excuses to militarily get us into the Middle East. Now they use excuses to keep us bogged down throughout the region.

Ironically, it’s not OK for a clerk to follow her personal beliefs, but it’s OK for a former secretary of state to jeopardize national security via her own electronic device decision.

So, two GOP presidential candidates visit the Kentucky clerk in support of her lawbreaking actions. What happened to the promise of upholding the laws of the United States and the Constitution? How hypocritical of these two gentlemen, and her.

I wonder if Mike Huckabee or Ted Cruz would have shown up for a Muslim who couldn’t issue marriage licenses because of their religious beliefs? We all know the answer. If your religion conflicts with your public duties, quit.

Why should someone who states they have religious beliefs be given the right to exercise their beliefs and be given exception over a person who has personal beliefs? It does not sound like an equal society. And I was taught all men are created equal.

I take exception to the Opinion Line contributor who claims that conservatives are uneducated. I am a staunch conservative, and I have an MBA. It seems to me the writer is the one who is uneducated.

To the Opinion Line contributor stating conservatives are uneducated and comfortable in their ignorant state of bliss: That arrogance is the same displayed by Hillary Clinton. A pox on you.

All these sports injuries merely raise the cost of everyone’s insurance.

Texas coach Charlie Strong told Sports Illustrated that the Longhorns needed to make a statement against Notre Dame. They did. They stink.

Since it is blatant gambling, why isn’t law enforcement shutting down the fantasy sports websites and arresting everyone involved?
