Opinion Line (Oct. 29)

I’m glad to see that the Kellogg Super Speedway is getting closer to completion. Now the guy in the red Challenger who drives 80-plus every morning may be able to top 100.

Before East Kellogg is expanded further, the Armour exchanges need to be redesigned and implemented. Whoever came up with the current configuration should be drawn and quartered.

I wonder how many Democrats are against the sales tax increase. Aren’t they the ones always whining about people paying their fair share? Perhaps they will finally admit that by “fair share,” they mean plundering “the rich.” Sales tax means everybody pays. That’s what I call fair.

I am a small-business owner who lives paycheck to paycheck. I used my tax savings last year as seed money to add two young employees. This month they start trade school to become licensed in their profession. Thank you, Gov. Sam Brownback, for allowing me to grow my business.

First of all, the Carr brothers aren’t getting out of prison. Also, if we remove judges from the Kansas Supreme Court while Brownback is in office, there is the scary possibility that more of his cronies will get appointed to the court.

If you think judges do their best to follow the law no matter who appoints them, then you’re either extremely naive or you’re not paying attention.

We’ve been watching an avalanche of political ads for quite a while now, and I think Sam Brownback’s nose looks longer. Don’t you?

An old acronym at work for certain employees was R.I.P. “Retired in place” seemingly applies well to Sen. Pat Roberts based on his work ethic.

It is equally important to know what a candidate won’t do as well as what he will do. I trust Roberts, as his record speaks for itself. Greg Orman – who is he?

Ken Selzer favors the multistate health care compact that would give Kansas lawmakers control of Medicare within our borders. That is hands-down reason enough to vote against him for insurance commissioner.

It would be so sweet if Secretary of State Kris Kobach lost by 23,000 votes.

If you are a guest in someone’s home, I recommend you make your own bed in the morning. You might just get invited back.
