Opinion Line Extra (Sept. 7)

Leavenworth is the perfect place for the Gitmo detainees. Kansas is well-known for locking people away forever. Most of the negative remarks are knee-jerk reactions to anything that President Obama wants to do. For once, do something good for the state and country.

Do you think Congress should approve or reject the deal with Iran? One CNN poll was 56 percent against. Another “fundamental change” Obama has brought us is that no longer are we a representative government.

Instead of jetting off to Alaska to rename Mount McKinley, Obama should have rolled up his sleeves and worked on job growth in areas of high unemployment. This is a higher priority than climate change.

How many felonies does Hillary Clinton have to commit before she is indicted? Run, Joe, run.

Well, it looks like the Republican propaganda machine is going to have to try to find another “scandal” to try to smear Hillary with. There is no evidence she received or sent any top-secret e-mails on her private server. I know you Republicans hate that.

Hooray for Donald Trump. If elected, he has vowed to fight the so-called war on Christmas. Finally, a candidate for president who tells it like it is and who is smart enough to figure out how to solve major problems and make America great again.

I don’t vote Republican, but the way Trump goes after Jeb Bush and the other candidates really makes me sick.

A letter proclaimed “Trump is shrewd, crude and rude” and went on to say, “He has been saying all the things that a big percentage of all of us want to hear.” What terrible things does that indicate about “all” Americans?

Moviegoers miss Paul Walker; his death was tragic. “Walker, Texas Ranger” was a force for good. Our grandson loves his walker; you should see him go. But I can’t think of any reason to like Scott Walker, or of any good he’s done. No way is he presidential.

If you were a man in Mexico and there was a two- or three-year wait to come to the U.S. legally and your family was on the verge of going hungry, would you sneak into the U.S. if you could to work at any job and send money home? I would.

Remember when the city decided to get rid of most, if not all, of the mowing crews, despite huge objections, and go with contractors? They said it would be better, cheaper and more efficient. Take a look now at weeds and grass up to your knees on most city-owned property.

I’m sick of zillionaire celebrities on TV every day trying to mooch me out of 19 cents a day, or 50 cents a day. You’re the zillionaire. You pony up. My poor wages can’t keep up with Westar increases.
