Opinion Line (Sept. 5)

It wouldn’t surprise me if the president decreed that the Rocky Mountains shall be renamed the Obama Mountains.

There you go again – the Republicans wishing to make a mountain out of a molehill, Mount Denali.

Tell the truth, you’re a bigot. Support the law, you’re a bigot. Want to make America great again – again, you must be a bigot.

Donald Trump is saying things that desperately need to be said but no other candidate has shown the fortitude to stand up and say. We need a smart, commonsense fighter as our next president. Unless we see major conduct changes in our current candidates, Trump is it.

Liberalism – aka progressivism, aka communism – is a cancer on America. It’s destroying us piece by piece, obliterating everything we hold dear. It’s like America is the body and it’s a 30-foot tapeworm living in our gut that must be removed.

These public officials refusing to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples have a constitutional right to believe whatever they wish. They do not have a constitutional right to taxpayer money to sponsor their private beliefs.

I can come to terms with some forms of abortion in my mind. I wonder if it’s the same reasoning for why God allows hunger, famine, disease and war to exist in this world.

If stealing is a sin, then why did God create thieves?

Why is it that politicians want to “level the playing field” when it comes to taxes after they have amassed huge wealth by gaming the tax system?

Are you as tired as I am of how the minority rules in this country?

I was pulled over for alleged speeding, and on my way home I was passed by an officer who was speeding (without lights or sirens). Who’s going to give him a ticket? This injustice is what gives officers a bad name. Please stop being hypocritical and fight real crime.

Sinners belong in church. The church has an obligation to show the sinners that they are sinners. Today’s churches are nothing more than feel-good meeting places, and those who attend are nothing more than customers. Pastors: If you believe in God, believe in your just reward.

It seems that we have more mattress stores than we have citizens in the greater Wichita area. How can this be the case? Maybe we need to increase taxes on mattresses to fix our state’s budget problems.
