You can send out surveys and have meetings and all that, but if you do not listen then it is a waste of time. The sales tax was written by city officials for what they wanted and then put on the ballot as one item instead of four.
A “yes” vote for the sales tax won’t stop the cost of life’s necessities from continuing to skyrocket. It’s a burden on those who can least afford it. Tackle one problem at a time; don’t squeeze us to the point of dehydration.
I can’t wait to see if voters go for the tax increase here. If they do, I bet no more street repairs will take place for the next 25 years.
Houston’s holy war against pastors’ free speech is more dangerous to Texas and our whole nation than any virus is. Your free speech is under attack, too, Kansans. Speak out against any who would limit it, before we lose it in this vile political atmosphere.
Ironically, the “captain” of the Democrat Party has become its anchor.
Since Obama is too stupid to put in a West Africa travel ban, I am voting a straight Republican ticket. Send Obama a message. Vote Republican.
It’s no wonder Republican politicians are fighting to keep their jobs or to get elected. Where else could they get paid the big bucks to do absolutely nothing?
I am shocked and ashamed after seeing the latest commercial for Gov. Sam Brownback. How can anyone mention the Carr brothers and tie them in any way to a political candidate? Judges do their best to follow the law no matter who appoints them.
Brownback says he has invested in education. Why then are there 39 kids in a Wichita high school chemistry class? Cutting funds to education has become dangerous.
Another four years of Brownback and he will destroy the future of the educational system in Kansas. His system has failed and will only get worse. When challenger Paul Davis is endorsed by the law enforcement of Kansas, it is easy to see Davis needs to be our next governor.
Businesses hire and fire based on demand for their product. The rationale that cutting business taxes will increase employment is wrong. It’s the demand side of the equation that affects employment.
I don’t know that I’m more likely to be beheaded or infected these days, but I’m more likely to be the victim of a gun-crazed killer thanks to the NRA and its ilk.
Flying keeps getting more expensive. Airlines are having record profits. Airlines are trying to get pilots to take lower wages so a starting pilot would make $21,000 a year to be responsible for flying passengers. Where’s the common sense?
