Opinion Line Extra (Sept. 3)
Purchasing any decongestant medicine requires a driver’s license. Are birth certificates next? Under Gov. Sam Brownback, Kansas has become a police state.
One reader attributed increasing school enrollment to people moving to the state and the governor’s economic plan. In the real world, it is because people have lost their jobs and can no longer afford to send their kids to private schools. Thanks, Brownback. Your plan to bankrupt everyone is working.
If Brownback wants “efficiencies,” he should collect on all the Oklahoma license tags in southern Kansas. Also, get rid of the “antique” car tags. My neighbor has two antique cars. His ’63 Corvette is worth more than five times my truck. He pays no annual car registration fees.
Gov. Brownback: Please accept the criminals from Gitmo in ash form only. Then you can spread their ashes in a special place.
Law enforcement officers being murdered throughout the United States were not helped by the way Obama and Eric Holder handled the situation in Ferguson, Mo.
To quote my wife: Hillary Clinton has about as much charm as a wolverine in menopause.
Some of Hillary’s e-mails have been released and many have been redacted because of the classified material in them, so it doesn’t take anyone with more than three brain cells to know she broke the law. So why isn’t she sitting in a federal prison cell?
Really? If you think Donald Trump represents the United States and our values, no wonder the world hates us.
For you Trump trumpeters: Be careful what you ask for. With his total lack of tact and class, we have to wonder what harm he might do the U.S. with our enemies as well as our allies.
Regarding the memorial picture of Jesus in a Chanute school: Something needs to be done about the Freedom From Religion Foundation. And who was it who contacted them?
So the most dangerous thing in Chanute is a picture of Jesus. How sad that Chanute doesn’t have the guts to stand up to out-of-state atheists.
If there were a picture of the devil in a school for those students who believe in devil worship, the citizens of Chanute would have a different attitude. Why do people have such a hard time understanding separation of church and state?
Someone I know was hit by a uninsured motorist who was at fault. My friend has to pay for the damage on her car, since she only had liability insurance. Uninsured people who cause accidents should have to pay for the damage, even if it’s a small amount per month.
Is it just me, or does it seem like some of these extremely obese people actually seem to be proud of the way they look?
