Opinion Line Extra (Oct. 23)
If there is anything that ruins my dinner quicker, it’s a stupid robocall by some idiot telling me that I need to vote for some candidate. That’s an excellent reason to vote for the opposition.
A good rule for voters: When in doubt, throw the incumbent out.
On Nov. 4, vote for our strong conservatives: Mike Pompeo, Pat Roberts and Sam Brownback.
The more I see all the negative advertising about Paul Davis and Greg Orman, the more I despise the messengers. No ads tell me what the Republicans will do if elected.
From a fellow moderate to moderate Republicans who plan to cross the line: Think about changing Orman’s name on the ballot to Harry Reid and Davis’ to President Obama before you vote. Votes for Orman and Davis are sure votes for Reid and Obama. Is that what you really want?
It doesn’t matter if an independent or a Democrat is running against Pat Roberts. If the Republican cannot make 70 percent of his committee meetings and does not live in Kansas, he needs to come home and let someone who will represent Kansas replace him.
A member of the billionaire Soros family held a big fundraiser for Orman in New York City, proving that Orman is just another Democrat beholden to the same ultrarich outside leftists who got Obama and Harry Reid elected.
Like other seniors, I’ve postponed spending money to fix up the house, waiting to see if Gov. Sam Brownback succeeds in co-opting our Medicare. If he succeeds, we’ll have to leave Kansas. The stagnant economy won’t improve because the carpenters, builders, etc., will have nothing to do.
Seniors and others should pay close attention to the state insurance commissioner ballot. Ken Selzer favors the health care compact, which will do away with Medicare as we know it. Dennis Anderson is the most qualified candidate and will protect Medicare. Please don’t just vote according to party.
“Poor people spend every dollar they make on food, shelter and clothing”? Really? Many of these “poor” people spend their money on tobacco, alcohol, fast food/junk food, drugs, etc.
I agree that cannabis detractors frequently display their ignorance. But cannabis proponents gloss over certain negative aspects of using it, too. Moderation is the key. And even if it does become legal, you’ll still be drug-tested at work.
A lawyer for Ebola czar? If you needed major heart surgery, would you want an ambulance-chasing lawyer to be called in to perform the operation?
Ebola and Obama – two words, each with five letters and three vowels. Two names that have become specters on our national health and welfare.
Iraq may be overrun by ISIS before the Syrian rebels can be trained to be Obama’s “boots on the ground.”
