Opinion Line Extra (Aug. 27)

Massachusetts Democrats, California Democrats, Kansas Democrats – no difference.

With what is going on in China and the world’s stock exchanges, are you really that worried about ISIL or illegal immigration?

Any president with a spine could have our border sealed in less than two months. The president has a constitutional mandate to protect this country; he may need congressional approval to send troops abroad, but not to send troops to our borders within our own country.

If you agree with Donald Trump about securing our borders, and implementing law and order, you are now labeled a “bigot.” Funny how those who so readily toss that word around are so lacking in self-examination that they can’t even remember the old childhood comeback: “Takes one to know one.”

This country is in trouble if a large majority actually is enamored with a clown like Trump, and will stay that way.

President Obama has yet to endorse any of the candidates for the presidency. Maybe he ought to endorse Donald Trump; that way we can be sure that every Republican in the country will vote against Trump.

Hillary Clinton certainly has had problems with her e-mail situation. I wonder if she has considered to do things the old-fashioned way: Send a letter in the mail.

I do not care about Clinton’s e-mail problem. If she is the nominee, most Democrats will have a choice to make: Do I vote for Hillary or the Republican? There is no way I would vote for any of the Republicans running. I am sure most Democrats feel the same way.

Hillary is now dismissing questions about her e-mail violations. Proof positive it is time to dismiss her as any kind of credible, trustworthy candidate for the presidency. Arrogance and lying show her true self.

The political pundits and operatives make no mention of the Gulf War, when TV stations interrupted regular television so they could actually show the first bombings of Baghdad and the beginning of war. I would say that was leaking of classified information.

If you want a U.S. Supreme Court that intervenes in elections to install the likes of George W. Bush, allows the 1 percent to spend unlimited amounts to buy elections and approves of our government spying on our private communications, then by all means vote for a Republican for president.

With all the legal actions being taken with religious items on government property, I hereby ask that April 1 and Oct. 31 be removed from every calendar. We don’t need any bad days in this world. April Fools’ Day and Halloween day must be gone.
