WATC receives a nice boost
After having some of its funding cut by Sedgwick County, the Wichita Area Technical College received a nice boost last week. Airbus donated a composite elevator from an A320 commercial airliner for WATC students to use in training. The Kansas Department of Commerce and the Workforce Alliance of South Central Kansas also announced grants of more than $180,000 to help train 70 sheet metal assembly employees for Spirit AeroSystems. WATC is a key partner in helping train our workforce and grow the local economy. The grants and donations will help this important work. – Phillip Brownlee
