Everyone who wants to kick out these Kansas budget fools: Get registered to vote now. If Kris Kobach keeps restricting your rights, soon only old white people will be allowed to vote.

Hopefully, the new Wichita police chief will make traffic enforcement the No. 1 priority. Bring back the motorcycle police unit.

When it comes to helping the better off, conservatives readily cut their taxes, but when it comes to helping the underprivileged, the County Commission pleads poverty on their behalf.

Citizens and business owners that desire to support increased government programs and expenditures should have the opportunity to pay higher taxes by checking a box to contribute additional funds via their paychecks and tax payments. For example, County Commissioner Dave Unruh and The Eagle could request higher appraised valuations of their properties.

So the Governor’s Office said the survey where 72 percent felt the 330,000 exempted businesses should be taxed means nothing. It’s now quite clear that unless you’re one of those privileged businessman or a GOP crony, you are a Kansan who doesn’t mean a thing to the governor.

A recent study showed conservatives don’t appreciate humor as much as liberals. Well, duh. Humor is an intellectual thing. If you’re funny but consider yourself a conservative for one reason or another, you may be lying to yourself about the conservative thing.

Parents and protesters who have berated the police over shootings of young men fail to recognize that nearly all had been involved in the recent commission of a crime or were actively committing a crime at the time of the shooting.

Leonard Pitts’ column is honest and thought provoking. I try to be kind and think that those who want The Eagle to stop printing it are not bigots but are simply uncomfortable with their own reactions to racism.

I love reading Leonard Pitts. He brings a perspective to cultural issues that many of us need – including, apparently, the complainers. Read with an open mind and gain some insight.

You have Charles Krauthammer and Cal Thomas, whose narrow-minded columns only go one way – backward. So don’t read the Pitts column anymore and your problems will magically disappear.

Keep Leonard Pitts. One needs to be educated and open-minded to appreciate his well-balanced, well-researched columns. You don’t have to agree with him, nor do you have to read him. You can stay in your own little mean world.

Many cops anymore are so fat and out of shape that they can’t run after a suspect and they just shoot him. Whatever happened to fitness tests?

Ladies of Wichita: Please look at your backside in the mirror before going out in public. No one wants to see your fat bulging out of a skintight tank top or your fat butt in shorts or pants that are too tight. Fat? Wear loose clothing.
