I am starting to wonder if “activists” actually have concerns about anything, or is their entire goal to just stop anything that is proposed?

Some of the people are stupid all of the time. All the people are stupid some of the time. But not all of the people are stupid all of the time. Some politicians understand this and some do not.

Where were all the gun-packin’ NRA members during the recent shoot-outs in Dodge City, Salina and Wichita? Just like the Old West.

The NRA message is that if people weren’t dying from guns, then stones, knives, and bows and arrows would be killing them.

People who don’t believe in climate change still believe smoking is not bad for your health, like the tobacco industry claimed for so long.

Don’t you think, after years of rate increases, Westar Energy officials are wise to the fact that they usually get about half the rate increase they ask for, so they just double the amount of the increase they expect to get? It’s not rocket science.

Those of you complaining about Westar’s requested and negotiated rate increase need to think back and recall this: “Under my plan ... electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket.” Your anger is misplaced, to say nothing about your memory.

It seems Kansas has a new procedure for filling the shortfall. I received a letter saying the K-40 adjustments were not allowed and I needed to pay an additional $1,200. So much for being able to enjoy retirement.

I get it now. The three County Commission czars are trying to recreate the “Daddy Society,” in which father always knows best for us. Duh.

If what the city did to 21st Street between Webb and Greenwich is called repair, maybe it should spend the money elsewhere.

So, Southwest Airlines, where are the $73 fares from Wichita that you proclaim in all the e-mails you send me? Don’t pay Southwest anymore subsidies after this year.

I get really tired watching the news these days, because it seems like after every story the announcer will direct the audience to visit the website. It gets tiresome.

Wichita State’s Ron Baker did well in the Pan Am Games. Now he can get back to playing for a real team that knows what they are doing and has the best guards, coach and fans in college basketball. Don’t believe it? Play us. You won’t? Smart move on your part.

How is a guy to meet a women if “Hi, how are you?” is considered a pickup line by the feminists?
