Opinion Line (Aug. 18)

Rather than passing more gun-control laws trying to disarm honest citizens, we should make it illegal to commit a crime with a gun. There – that will solve it.

All of the politicians who voted for the laws regarding gun changes should be recalled. Obviously, they have given free rein to all the gun-toting idiots out there, and too many of them believe this means they can just blow anybody away. Nobody is safe now.

If black lives matter, why are there so many murders of blacks by other blacks? If black lives matter, why the continuous black-on-black gang wars?

Politics is really corrupt when Sedgwick County government lowers real estate tax $1.37 a year on a $100,000 house just to say it lowered property taxes again.

Sorry, Davis Merritt (“The scary subtext to Ranzau’s Spirit outburst,” Aug. 11 Opinion). Counting the people who did not vote does not give you a majority.

Wouldn’t it be beneficial for all elected officials to promote the welfare of all constituents, not just those who can vote for them?

Isn’t it strange that all the heavily armed people around Kim Jong Un put up with the insane way he has of running the country? One burst of gunfire at him would likely get you killed, but think of the favor you would do the rest of North Korea.

Hillary Clinton is a criminal, just like her husband.

Right-wingers are trashing Hillary Clinton for using her personal server as being a security risk, but given the recent number of hackers who have managed to get into the most sensitive parts of the federal government, it sounds as though using her personal server was probably a safer bet.

Those crazy, conspiracy-minded, gun-toting, Bible-thumping, conservative Republicans. If it weren’t for their outrageous Benghazi conspiracy and continuous congressional investigations, no one would have ever known about Hillary’s secret and apparently illegal e-mail server.

The GOP is proving that it is a mean and nasty small-tent party. The primary leader calls women fat pigs and other foul names and calls Mexicans rapists. He is defended. This has nothing to do with being politically correct. It’s just mean-spirited and uncivilized.

Who deserves Trump more than the Republicans? His continuous denigration of the American female simply highlights past Republican erosion of their rights.
