Opinion Line (Aug. 17)

Regardless of party, gender, ethnic origin, appearance, past prison record, whatever or wherever, I will cast my vote for the candidate who will guarantee to end robocalls within 30 days of taking office.


Amnesty International is proposing that prostitution be legalized. Where have they been? It already has been. They are called politicians.


Why does the city allow four dogs per household? If people want four dogs they should live in the county. Also, an animal maintenance permit fee is charged in cases of more than two dogs. Is it being collected?


Is Sedgwick County following the Greece model now – no one pays taxes and no one bothers to collect them?


Why can’t the county treasurer collect the back taxes listed in The Eagle supplements? If those taxes were paid, the county’s budget would be easily balanced. Developers shouldn’t get a better break than the average homeowner.


Excitement – when you pick up the Monday Eagle and see it has three sections. Disappointment – when you see the third section is the delinquent real estate tax list.


The Eagle needs to put the continuation of Leonard Pitts’ column to a readers’ vote. He’s against police, and a big hypocrite.


Leonard Pitts’ columns do nothing except inspire hate. Can The Eagle not find a writer to replace him?


Have you noticed how many more anti-abortion letters to the editor have masculine rather than feminine-sounding names?


If we were talking about harvesting body parts from a convicted murderer put to death for his crimes, liberals would call that barbaric and inhumane. But because the body parts come from an unborn child killed during an abortion, the body parts are simply a line item.


Planned Parenthood isn’t profiting off the deaths of children. You are thinking of the NRA.


All the fuss raised by talk show hosts and other celebrities about the killing of that lion filled the airwaves. Millions of babies are murdered, taken from the womb, and their organs sold to the highest bidder. Where is the celebrity outrage about that?


In regard to Cecil the lion: Do zebra lives matter?


I’m glad to find out that spicy foods may help me live longer. I have eaten them all my life.


I remember the good old days when attorneys did not advertise on TV and radio.
