This is just dreaming on my part, but wouldn’t it be nice if people would simply obey the laws?
Obama has no desire to reduce homicides by illegal aliens, let alone eliminate them. It would be very easy to cut off funds entirely to any cities that even hint that they are sanctuary cities. The feds use the purse for everything else.
Perhaps “politically incorrect” is what we need in the White House next.
If Hillary Clinton isn’t smart enough to know not to use a private e-mail server, she certainly isn’t smart enough to be president.
Sedgwick County has a budget. The liberals are not happy, as they did not get everything they asked for. And the conservatives are not happy, as many of the cuts were restored. Compromise does not mean joy.
Is it possible that our budget woes could be attributed to the fact that we have a whole lot fewer people working in Sedgwick County than in the past, thus less income from taxes? Boeing leaving and layoffs and relocations by Spirit, Cessna, Bombardier have added up.
If you’re not happy with how Sedgwick County commissioners handled the budget, remember these two words: next election.
You’ve got to be kidding. Recall Commissioners Ranzau, Peterjohn and Howell now.
The look on the faces of Commissioners Unruh and Norton was priceless when they tried to back-door through more spending and then realized the majority commissioners had the facts, figures and common sense to catch and stop them at their Democrat game.
If the county commissioners want to cut costs and save the taxpayers’ money, they should take a walk through all the departments and get rid of the employees visiting, eating on company time or standing around doing nothing.
Sam Brownback says “God bless” teachers while he takes away their due-process rights and reduces funding for the classroom.
According to the Topeka Capital-Journal, it appears there is more than one bully in the Brownback family.
I hope every Kansas civics teacher is using the current Kansas government as an object lesson in what can happen when a majority of the people don’t vote and radical politicians, elected by a minority, infringe upon and diminish the rights, privileges and benefits of the people at large.
Secretary of State Kris Kobach said he hoped every county would have a voting paper trail by the time he leaves office. What value does it have if it cannot be audited? He should help the WSU statistician complete her audit. He is creating doubt about voting accuracy.
The wealthy people of Wichita need to open up their wallets and restore the Orpheum Theatre. It’s long overdue.
Richard Crowson’s “Safe at home” editorial cartoon of Kaiser Carlile on Aug. 9 was stunning and said it all. Kudos.
I always look forward to the thoughtful and “right on” opinions of Richard Crowson. Thanks to him for his contributions.
