Opinion Line (Aug. 15)

Kansas bonds are on sale now. I wonder if Arthur Laffer will buy any of them.

Kansas is “like living in a Third World country”? The political drama never ceases to amaze. It’s sad how far disconnected we are from the realities of the world that we think cutting a budget is the hardest thing a society could ever endure.

People who complain about Kansas highways must not travel out of Kansas and use other states’ highways. I do, and I appreciate Kansas highways.

Can we expect too much from our state leaders when they can’t or will not enforce the “do-not-call” list?

Hillary Clinton is a copy of Barack Obama. Apparently some are not intelligent enough to see her as she is. You like corruption, lies, evasion and scandals? And a woman who let her husband humiliate her repeatedly and didn’t have enough backbone to kick him out? Yeah – vote for her.

Somewhere there is a jail cell that’s “Ready for Hillary.”

Columnist Davis Merritt is right (Aug. 11 Opinion): When people don’t vote, we get people like Sedgwick County Commission Chairman Richard Ranzau who have only their own agenda and don’t work for the people.

Is it just me? Every time I see Ranzau sitting on his dais he reminds me of a Soviet-era commissar.

Am I the only one? I can’t be. The resemblance between Ranzau and Curly is too obvious. That leaves Commissioners Karl Peterjohn and Jim Howell. I’m not sure which is Moe and which is Larry.

With so many floods in the news, it would be great public relations for Wichita if an Eagle reporter prepared a story for release in national magazines and on TV news explaining the history of how the Big Ditch has protected our city.

I finally found a use for my old binoculars – reading the classifieds in The Wichita Eagle.

A software engineer has developed a taxi drone. The Jetsons have officially arrived.

What’s with these big game hunters? What’s next? The MGM lion?
