Opinion Line (Aug. 11)

I don’t understand why tax money needs to be wasted on a new law enforcement training center, considering that the simpleminded among us claim that cameras worn by law enforcement will solve all problems.

When an idiot kills someone with his car we blame the idiot and not the car. When an idiot kills somebody with a gun we blame the gun and the idiot. What a bunch of idiots out there.

Why doesn’t Wichita look into using smaller buses? Surely they would be cheaper to purchase and maintain. They should be adequate, when so much of the time you see a bus with only one or two passengers. Schedules could be altered, and maybe added with more economical buses.

Lynn Rogers feels the need to change parties to run against Sen. Michael O’Donnell – to be an education-friendly legislator. I think Rogers wants to get in the limelight and be paid for it. Maybe he and Jean Schodorf can form their own party.

The people who support sending hidden cameras into Planned Parenthood clinics are the same ones who supported an “ag-gag” law making it a criminal offense to do the same in meatpacking plants. Maybe it’s time to make using a hidden camera illegal in all cases.

If people were aborting perfectly healthy puppy fetuses, and selling those puppy body parts for research, the liberals would be all up in arms.

Expenses are involved in collecting and distributing blood, so the Red Cross may morally charge for that blood. The same is true of valuable parts of a fetus, parts that would otherwise be destroyed. So Planned Parenthood has a moral right to collect and use those parts. Neither should profit.

I always thought abortion involved a gob of goo. Now they tell me a heart, lungs, kidneys, liver and adrenal glands are considered gobs of goo?

Getting all mushy over a zygote doesn’t make you a good person.

Americans are ignorant, lazy and overweight. It’s no wonder the rest of the world hates us.

All public employees, representatives and government contractors should be required to be fit. We shouldn’t have obese people as role models.

Homosexuals don’t want “special rights.” That’s a lie to scare you. Gays just want what everyone else has: a job, a place to live, to not get fired or thrown out of their home for being who they are, or be threatened with death or injury. Are those special rights?

If being homosexual in itself is a sin, then why does God create homosexual people?
