The Kansas Bioscience Authority should be shut down. Funding for private-sector ventures should be made by the private sector, not government.

When Edsel Ford realized the Edsel auto was a disaster in the market, he pulled it from the market. Too bad Brownback can’t recognize the disaster his Laffer experiment is, as others do, and pull it from the Kansas tax plan.

More than 350 businesses believe in the Clean Power Plan and its call for the reduction of power plant emissions. They are convinced it will not only benefit the environment but also be good for business growth. Our financially hampered Legislature and shortsighted governor just don’t see it that way.

Obama crams global warming down our throats and even pushes it in other countries. He should park the two new Air Force One planes for a month and practice what he preaches. His daily trips all over the U.S. make a mockery of him.

If you spend tens of thousands of dollars on a new car, then allow the dealership to affix its tacky, crooked ID decal to your trunk, you’re not doing your part to combat overcommercialization. And dealers: Ask permission. I think you’ll save a considerable sum on labor and decals.

It is nice that some of these old folks (I fall in this category) are learning to use smartphones. That way we can enjoy them screaming into their phones in restaurants and at airport gates. We need a way to disable their phones for a half hour or so.

We are not to judge all Muslims by the actions of a few lunatics, but we are encouraged to judge all gun owners by the action of a few lunatics.

A letter writer who said the Civil War was over states’ rights and that “slavery just happened to become a part of it” must have been educated in Texas, where the schools have been changing history facts to suit their twisted views for years.

As though his problems aren’t bad enough, the dentist who shot the lion is getting public support from Ted Nugent. Talk about bad breaks.

I know a lot of Catholics who sound and act no different from nonbelievers. Is there a separate Catholic Bible that says pornography and taking the Lord’s name in vain, along with using other obscenities, is OK?

When a poor woman is pregnant, many will protect the unborn with all their being. When the child is born – lady, you are on your own. You feed, educate, clothe, teach values. If you don’t succeed, it’s on you. We just make sure that child got into this world.
