State’s education woes getting national attention
Unfortunately, the state’s education struggles are receiving national media attention. An article explaining “why teachers can’t hotfoot it out of Kansas fast enough” was published by the Washington Post, the Chicago Tribune and other news websites throughout the nation. Among the reasons mentioned: low teacher pay, lost job protections, state funding cuts, and a new policy allowing unlicensed teachers in certain districts. – Phillip Brownlee
