Opinion Line (Aug. 6)

Donald Trump says what the rest of you have been thinking for years but didn’t have the backbone to publicly say. He would not canoodle with celebrities. He isn’t afraid to fire anyone, and he takes no prisoners. He will wake us from our nightmare.

A man’s comb-over is an accurate character indicator. Trump’s is a brash, “hey, look at my comb-over” one. Scott Walker’s is a tiny, dishonest, “what comb-over?” one. If Walker believes he is getting away with that, who knows what else he’ll try to get away with?

I read that Hillary Clinton paid $600 for a haircut. If she did, her hair should look much better.

At the Kochs’ billionaire convention, Charles Koch compared their political cause to those of Frederick Douglass, Susan B. Anthony and Martin Luther King Jr. Are you kidding me? Delusional or disingenuous? I can hear these past patriots rolling over in their graves.

I think the reason abortion is legal in this country is because we could not begin to pay for the care and the costs of raising all those unwanted children on the public dime.

I feel better about the Iran nuclear deal. Reportedly there are clauses that state, “If you like your reactors, you can keep your reactors. If you like your centrifuges, you can keep your centrifuges.” We know what that means.

If everyone is supposed to have health insurance under the Affordable Care Act and more people in the pool should lower the cost of health care, doesn’t giving health care away at events like the Convoy of Hope defeat the purpose of the ACA?

If the founders were somehow zapped forward in time and place to present America, they would currently be about to push the restart button on the Revolution.

Health clinics should not be located in grocery stores. Sick patients can readily spread their germs or illnesses to a wide segment of the public who are innocently shopping for groceries.

How to solve the city’s budget problems: Station police at intersections and ticket drivers who hit the accelerator to run yellow and red lights.

City bus drivers should consider picking up and dropping off passengers farther away from major intersections. Otherwise they become a traffic hazard.

If we are going to replace Alexander Hamilton on the $10 bill with a woman, the obvious choice is the only 10 who ever lived: Bo Derek.

Is there some sort of invisible force field that keeps Wichitans from keeping right when walking down hallways, aisles and sidewalks and through doorways?
