Thousands of Kansans – including the elderly and those with disabilities – received letters last week from the Kansas Department for Children and Families telling them in error that their Medicaid coverage had been canceled, the Lawrence Journal-World reported. DCF blamed the error on a computer glitch triggered as the agency shifts to a new computer system. It has sent out new letters informing people of the mistake and assuring them that they still have Medicaid coverage.
