Opinion Line Extra (July 30)

I think I have figured out what is causing climate change and global warming. It’s that thing on Donald Trump’s head.

I find it hilarious that Republicans are telling the pope he should leave global warming issues to the scientists when it is the Republicans who have been ignoring the 99 percent of scientists who have been warning about the need to take action to prevent global warming.

Trump looks and acts like Il Duce (Benito Mussolini), who strutted to power in Italy.

Using computers, NASA sends a probe on a nine-year voyage to Pluto and snaps some great photos as it flies by, but the computer experts can’t make one that’s hack-proof?

It is a shame that so many people were never taught or learned on their own to think about the consequences before they do or say something. The world would be a much better place if they did.

Why would anyone trust Obama to negotiate a deal? Does “Obamacare” ring a bell?

Obama recently signed a Kansas disaster declaration. I hope that included Topeka, because that was the site of the biggest disaster this year.

Obama came back from his trip to Africa. Bummer.

The Boy Scout Oath: “On my honor I will do my best to do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law; to help other people at all times; to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake and morally straight.” Clearly the national organization caved.

I was thoroughly revolted when the Planned Parenthood “doctor” talked about a “less crunchy” abortion to avoid damaging body parts of these babies in utero.

Give me one good reason why God should bless this country.

Of all the bills I pay each month, Cox’s cable bill is the most hated around my house. Cox structures its programming in such a way that it forces you to buy programming you wouldn’t give a penny for in order to view the programming you want.

I don’t like to have negative thoughts, but I must say that the ignorance level of some Opinion Line writers is staggering and a bit unsettling.

TV news is ridiculous. A story is no longer news when repeated at noon and 4, 5, 6 and 10 p.m. as well as the next morning. I think I’m getting two minutes of news, 15 minutes of weather, one minute of sports and 12 minutes of worthless commercials.

It is embarrassing when our local TV stations fail to use spell check when posting written information on the screens during their newscasts. If we can’t trust their spelling, how can we trust their news reporting?
