So scientists are looking for a new Earth. Why? So mankind can destroy it like they did this one?
A reader commented that “Okies” have no class. Perhaps not, but they must be the smartest people in the U.S. In the 2008 and 2012 elections, Obama did not carry one county in Oklahoma.
Donald Trump is just continuing Republicans’ tradition of denigrating any combat veteran who disagrees with them. They did it to Gore, Kerry and now McCain. Anyone who risks his life in combat is a hero and deserves to be respected for his service.
So the Republican Party’s front-runner is Trump. How fitting for the party of stupid. His only yardstick of anything is money. Unlike the majority of his party, he must be able to do basic arithmetic, not “Laffer” math.
As a Vietnam veteran with two tours under my belt, I have a short phrase for McCain and Trump that is widely used: “Many gave some. Some gave all.” More than 58,000 lost their lives, and who knows how many were wounded.
I am a Korean veteran, U.S. Army, 1951-55, and I will vote for Donald Trump in a heartbeat.
Democratic presidential flops – Carter, Clinton and Obama. Let’s not add another Clinton to this list.
Dear Sedgwick County commissioners: Was it not Marie Antoinette who said, “Let them eat cake?” If education were a priority among your kind, you would find that quote relevant.
Why don’t we just get rid of the county commissioners and let the Wichita City Council take over? Look at the money we would save. Most of the county is the city of Wichita anyhow. We could do a lot of the things the county says we can’t do now.
I’ve never seen a study to confirm it, but I’m betting that the zoo generates far more revenue for the city, county and state than it receives in funding.
The goal of libertarians is to do away with all government. This holds true for the Koch brothers, and it holds true for majority of the County Commission. We are seeing the results of libertarian state government in the Brownback-led extreme slashing of state services. We elected these guys, folks.
Brownback has succeeded in reducing the branches of Kansas government. Now there is only one – the Brownback branch.
Why is it such a wonderful thing to launch a program specifically to recruit and encourage black entrepreneurs, but it would be considered racist if there were a program that provided initiatives for white entrepreneurs and was labeled as such?
Of all the stupid suggestions I have heard, silencing the warning devices of trains really takes the cake. If you can’t stand the heat, get out of the kitchen.
