Iran is floating on an ocean of cheap oil and saying they need nuclear power to survive. Maybe someone is not paying attention to what they’re really saying.

That was not a deal with Iran. That was a deal with the devil. Editorial cartoonist Richard Crowson is probably jumping up and down with glee.

President Obama has been into turning the country upside down and wrong side out in many ways, with many methods, and is not finished yet.

Anyone who throws Sen. John McCain under the bus has my ear. McCain needs to retire as of yesterday.

It’s been said many times, and we’re certainly a witness to it in Kansas: Republicans appear to express so much concern for the unborn but couldn’t care less after a child is born. They block health care for children and all members of the public, yet never offer a viable option.

There is much ado about big money buying our presidential candidates. Little, if anything, is mentioned about Fox News picking and choosing which candidates can join their televised debates. Which is worse – big money or big media?

Do you Democrats and liberals really want Fox News to go away? If Fox News weren’t around, we would be like the communist countries with only one side reported. It’s obvious that our current media are a direct line from the White House. Long live Fox News.

Too many drivers around Wichita can’t seem to follow the rules out of a 100-page Kansas Driving Handbook. I don’t expect any of them to be able to live by the Bible.

Someone griped about tenured professors with six-figure salaries. After nearly 30 years of tenure, I have not come close to a six-digit salary. In Brownbackistan 2015, publishing a book got me a 1-cent raise.

It used to be the “law” of supply-demand. However, it should be competition-profit. Have you noticed Westar Energy, or the airline industry?

I’ve owned Westar stock for more than 20 years. I have never earned 8.5 to 10 percent return on my investment, as proposed many times over by Westar during rate cases. I wonder who has.

What are the odds that County Commissioners Richard Ranzau, Karl Peterjohn and Jim Howell have secret meetings before the regular County Commission meetings?

I find it quite amusing about the east-side Twin Peaks closing. I live next to a business that employs dozens of people who can’t speak English, and there are constantly new ones coming into the business. Why pick on Twin Peaks?

It amazes me that idiots who can’t count change back from a dollar, serve soda inside the cup or keep condiments between the buns are bellyaching about wanting $15 an hour. They aren’t worth $5 an hour.
