Opinion Line Extra (July 20)

These so-called gas-and-oil experts must think we are idiots. They do have all of us over a barrel, so to speak.

Since the Sedgwick County commissioners refuse to do anything positive and constructive, why don’t we eliminate the commission and let the city absorb their responsibilities? That would be the best economic decision they could make.

Really, what have we become? If the zoo cannot sustain itself as a business, it should not be in business. Taxpayer money is not endless, as some believe. The free ride needs to end sometime soon.

Our movie theaters, TV shows, airwaves and games are drowning in violence. Then a disturbed young man commits a violent crime, and a flag and a gun are blamed. Now, that’s just a special kind of stupid, isn’t it?

OK, the South has apparently given up the Confederate flag. So now it’s time to change the name of the New York Yankees. After all, the Yanks were a part of the war, too.

How is it that the only time the Constitution or the Bible are relevant to conservatives is when guns or gay rights are involved?

ISIS flags are going up around the world and we’re concentrating on rebel flags coming down. Regional wars are multiplying and we’re downsizing the military. Brownback eliminates taxes for hundreds of businesses and wonders where the tax base went. How much dope are they selling in Colorado?

I am 50 and would like to meet at least one person before I die who chose to be gay. I hear there are people who chose to be gay, but it comes mostly from people who were born straight.

Hate-filled, fearmongering racist bigot Donald Trump is leading in the polls for the Republican nomination for president of the United States. That is all we need to know about the current state of the Republican Party.

The Donald is sparking interest in the presidential campaign. It won’t matter who becomes the Democratic nominee, though, because the Republican candidate will be a withered and diseased appendage that the electorate will amputate.

A fool is quickly separated from his money. Go ahead and vote for Trump and join the fools and watch your money go away. I lived in New York City when Trump’s empire made the city have the highest rents in America.

With Obama you fell for the “hope and change” line, which in reality was nothing but hype and lies. Don’t do it again with the likes of Hillary.

What we need is a good honky tonk. Entire generations are growing up not knowing how to two-step.

I guess it’s a good thing that thieves steal condoms regularly. They’re the last ones you want to be breeding.
