Opinion Line Extra (July 17)

The simultaneous computer outages at United Airlines, the Wall Street Journal and the New York Stock Exchange had to be more than a coincidence.

The FCC ruled that throttling data of unlimited account holders is illegal, and fined AT&T $100 million for doing it. So why am I still getting e-mail warnings of impending throttling, followed by near certainty it is happening? What does it take to get AT&T’s attention?

It is ridiculous that HUD Secretary Julian Castro wants to use federal muscle to put low-cost housing anywhere he wants. Such a policy will inject chaos into the housing market and result in people not wanting to purchase homes for fear of losing the value of their investment.

Anyone else notice that Hillary Clinton’s campaign never visits poor neighborhoods, but she claims she is on their side?

Why do the Republicans care what Hillary Clinton is doing? They are not going to vote for her. I think they should be worried about the clowns they have running for president. They have all they can handle with the biggest clown of all, Donald Trump.

Donald Trump’s response to a firestorm – throw more gasoline on it.

Scott Walker’s got it all. He hates workers, education, women and gays. What’s not to love?

I think if you live in the U.S. that you should not be able to fly any flag except for the red, white and blue of our country.

If I believe a bunch of monkeys could do a better job than our Republican Legislature, can I still consider myself a Christian?

Why does The Eagle give its readers the agenda for City Council and County Commission meetings the day of these meetings and not the day before? Is this a subtle way of limiting public input?

The Eagle should do an expose on where our tax dollars come from, what percentages pay for what services, and possibly a comparison of several taxpayers at different economic strata – showing what they pay in local sales tax and what they pay in state and federal income taxes.
