Brownback still paying off campaign debts

Gov. Sam Brownback is still raising money to try to pay off re-election campaign debts, the Topeka Capital-Journal reported. The campaign’s most recent finance report, filed in January, showed that it owed $200,000 to Brownback and $100,000 to Lt. Gov. Jeff Colyer. Documents obtained by the Capital-Journal indicate Brownback has been calling donors seeking money to pay off the loans and other debts. – Phillip Brownlee
