Only Dole came close to Jeb Bush on tax return disclosure

When former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush recently released a jaw-dropping 33 years of tax returns, he set a high bar for financial disclosure for his fellow presidential hopefuls in both parties. He also set a new record historically, eclipsing former Kansas Sen. Bob Dole’s release of 30 years of tax returns on his way to winning the 1996 GOP nomination, according to PolitiFact Florida. Democrat John Kerry and his 20 years of returns are now in third place. No law requires such transparency, but candidates have been selectively releasing returns for several decades. – Rhonda Holman
