Opinion Line Extra (Oct. 13)
Politicians need to tell voters what accomplishments are on their resume. They also should explain their plans and how they are going to implement them. If all they can do is sling mud, they should not expect my vote.
Mike Pompeo has run one of the cleanest campaigns in recent history. I’m proud that he is our congressman.
I am not a Republican because while I agree that the illegals and the poor and the stupid should be discouraged from voting, I don’t understand why we have to take away the little money they have left.
I now believe in reincarnation. The Three Stooges have come back as Obama, Biden and Kerry.
Obama wants to play the Reagan card and ask if we’re better than we were six years ago. Well, the answer is not only “no” but “heck no.”
A vote for Greg Orman is a vote for a do-nothing Senate. It hasn’t passed a budget, allowed a vote on anything sent from the House, or attempted to control our borders. With a Republican House, a Democratic Senate will continue to block legislation.
A vote for Orman, the independent candidate for the U.S. Senate, would be the same as purchasing a box of assorted chocolates. You would not know what you would get.
I was seriously considering voting for Orman until the Democrats pulled their little trick to try to make sure Pat Roberts was defeated. I don’t know if Orman was in on it, but the political shenanigans and sheer dishonesty of the Democrats make me likely to vote for Roberts.
The only positions I know that Pat Roberts holds is support for giving more money to the wealthy, jumping into wars where we have no business being, and the ability to say “Obama,” “Harry Reid” and “no” over and over and over.
Can you think of anything Pat Roberts has done for you or the state of Kansas? Me neither. That’s why he has to attack Orman, Obama, Reid, etc. – he’s got nothing else to run on.
Sarah Palin is not smarter than a fifth-grader.
Political candidates for public office should focus on the development of downtown Wichita as a major issue. I’ve traveled the world and haven’t seen such a desolate place, other than the deserts of the southwestern United States. Time for redevelopment plans that bring business back to downtown now.
The panic created by the spread of Ebola will be far worse than the impact of the disease itself.
The Kurds in Iraq are the conservatives, whereas ISIS fighters are the liberals. Which side do you favor?
