Opinion Line Extra (Oct. 10)

Hey, tea party conservatives, please don’t cut off your noses to spite your faces. Or are you content to have Harry Reid continue as head of the Senate? Your decision.

Kansas tea party legislators are certainly people of principle. Unfortunately, their principles are often mistaken to the point of being foolish. Moreover, they follow their foolish principles too rigidly. They need to understand the principle of appropriate compromise.

Greg Orman sounds like a used-car salesman. So does Obama. Did you not learn your lesson yet? Don’t be fooled once again by a fast-talking politician. Vote for Pat Roberts.

Orman has donated to both Republicans and Democrats. He’s a true independent. He’s the best man for the Senate. Roberts long ago turned his back on our state. Vote him out.

I would take odds that Roberts will discontinue renting a recliner in his friend’s Dodge City home and change his voter registration to Virginia if he loses the election. He gave up being a Kansan years ago. He just liked being a senator from Kansas – far from Kansas, it seems.

Why is it voters will vote for a candidate who advocates cutting business taxes? Generally, based on current experiences, such reductions have limited taxpayer benefits.

I’m totally miffed at the political ad system – taking things out of context, stating partial findings as fact, twisting statements to their advantage. I won’t vote my party. I’ll vote my mind. Unfortunately, people who only listen to ads will vote their mindset, armed with bad information.

Kris Kobach should be thankful he’s lost a few battles lately, because it will have prepared him for what’s to come in November.

We had a large group of whiners when gas was $4 that “it is all Obama’s fault.” So where are those same whiners thanking Obama now that it is down to $3?

Hillary Clinton’s incompetence did not go away the day she quit being secretary of state.

In light of The Wichita Eagle’s disdain for Republicans, I think our local paper should change its name to Pravda of the Plains.

Taxes are the opposite of necessary for any society except a slave society. The free market is the only way to get things done without making everyone into slaves.

USD 259 is touting its rise in student population. But how many of these students are illegals who have moved into our sanctuary city? I would really like to know how much of my tax money is going to educate them.

Appreciate excellence? See the Kansas City Royals.

Royals’ keys to postseason success: Dream. Believe. Execute.

The Kansas State football resurgence shows what a huge difference an outstanding coach makes. I wish my Huskers would take notice.
