Other places like home for many Kansans

Almost 4 in 10 Kansans say that if they had the opportunity they would move to another state, according to a new Gallup survey. What’s more, only 34 percent of those surveyed said that Kansas is the best state to live in, compared with a 50-state average of 46 percent. Slightly fewer Kansans (56 percent) have a great deal or fair amount of confidence in their state government than the 2013 national state average of 58 percent. Also, those surveyed rated Kansas’ economy as a 15 on an economic confidence index, compared with a national state average of 23. However, 85 percent said they were satisfied with their city or area, slightly better than the national average of 83 percent. – Phillip Brownlee
