The Suffolk University/USA Today poll’s results about the governor’s and Senate races in Kansas got all the attention, but the questions went beyond 2014 and even politics. Religion is very (65 percent) or somewhat (19 percent) important in the lives of most of those surveyed, 36 percent of whom said Fox News was their most trusted source for political news. Forty-four percent said they support putting U.S. combat troops on the ground in Iraq to combat ISIS. When asked about the 2014 presidential race, 62 percent of the Kansas Democrats said Hillary Clinton would be their first choice while Jeb Bush (15 percent) and Mike Huckabee (14 percent) led among the Republicans – until Mitt Romney was added, gaining 33 percent of the support. – Rhonda Holman
