Opinion Line (Oct. 4)
I saw on the news that a school bus was driven into the ditch. Was Gov. Sam Brownback the driver?
If the Brownback campaign keeps bad-mouthing strip clubs, he might lose the all-American white male demographic.
Judges have decided that Democrats can just make up rules as they go, regardless of laws or previous procedures. Long after liberals are turned out of office, judicial and other appointments they made have consequences. Consider that before you vote for governor or senator.
Only corrupt, liberal Kansas judges think the word “shall” means “maybe” when it comes to the law requiring the Democratic Party put a candidate on the ballot for U.S. senator.
In the past 50 years I’ve watched the grocery, hardware and sporting goods stores, the pet shop, barbershop and even the church become big-box stores. And the Republicans want us to get out of the way of business?
There have been fewer and fewer monarch butterflies in recent years. Is this because Kris Kobach considers them illegal immigrants and the butterflies are thus afraid to come here?
I am idealistic enough to be intrigued by the idea of an independent in the Senate, but I have a sneaky feeling that Greg Orman is nothing more than a Democrat disguised in independent clothing.
I hesitate to underestimate the foolishness of Kansas voters, but this year it’s conceivable that they are at long last tired of being fed a steady diet of lies by Republicans. And the lies of other groups are not a mitigating factor.
A visit to the main tag office confirmed my expectations on government-run organizations. The lot was full, the inside understaffed and the line 40 deep. However, the inspection office had six employees sitting around playing on smartphones. Until officials can eliminate such obvious waste of resources, I will vote “no” on tax increases.
“You can’t get it this way.” “You can’t get it that way.” “It doesn’t this and that.” But, oops, now it’s here. Oops, now it’s there. Don’t try to lie and obfuscate and reassure. We don’t trust you, CDC, and our “honest” government. And why should we?
Local officials are going to protect us from Ebola? Really? That’s strange, considering that Obama is doing absolutely nothing to prevent it here. If infected people are not coming here on their own, he’s allowing them to be flown in deliberately.
Regarding the earthquakes: How stupid do the people in charge think the people are? It is the oil company fracking. We didn’t have the problem before.
