Opinion Line (Oct. 3)

In a Sept. 16 speech, President Obama assured us that the Ebola virus could not come to the U.S. as he was working with West African nations to keep it contained on the African continent. Can we believe anything Obama says?

Anyone entering the U.S. from a country where Ebola cases are known to exist should be required to spend 30 days in quarantine. This should include passengers and crew, and be at their own expense. Our health officials should be ashamed, as well as held accountable.

People died for this country (and you). The least you could do is get off your lazy butt and go vote.

Fell asleep the other day while watching TV. Woke up to a program called “The Virginian.” Thought it must be a documentary on Pat Roberts. Turns out it was just an old Western.

Why would anyone be surprised Roberts’ campaign staff is from out of state? So is Roberts.

Greg Orman runs as a Democrat and pulls out. Orman then runs as an independent and Democrats throw their candidate under the bus. Courts fail to stop the Democrat fiasco. Now we have a “demopendent” on the ballot. Election rigging is alive and well in Kansas. Do not be fooled.

Orman is just another rich Democrat trying to buy a Senate seat.

Orman donated to Harry Reid. That’s all I need to know.

Prominent Republicans have come to promote Roberts. I doubt any candidate outside of Kansas has ever asked Roberts to do the same. So many terms, but of no influence – anywhere.

Ultraconservatives: Please stop alienating sound, intelligent Republican candidates. You keep causing the liberals to win. Enough.

Gov. Sam Brownback knows the exact businesses whose state income taxes were zeroed. Be truthful: How many more people have these companies hired?

When it comes to choosing to vote for governor or senator in the upcoming election, I urge everyone to write in “none of the above.” Maybe then the politicians will get the message from the citizens.

Saying free birth control cuts chance of teen pregnancy and abortions is like saying free gasoline cuts your chance of an automobile accident.

Fleetwood Mac just started a 33-city tour, and Wichita is not on the list. I guess the arena is full for the rest of the year.
