Why are people who live on a floodplain so surprised when it floods?
I wish the local weathermen would run a graphic across the screen in the event of severe weather instead of interrupting live programming and waving their arms like scarecrows at their radar toys over and over.
Some nights the TV shows are so bad I look forward to the commercial breaks.
The only good thing about David Letterman’s retirement is that millions are getting an extra hour of sleep each night.
Just when television is getting kind of stale to watch, Donald Trump announces he’s running for president. I don’t know whether he’ll get enough votes but will he ever be fun to watch.
I hope Hillary Clinton wins the Democrat primary. She did an awful job as secretary of state, has poor public speaking ability, and would be easy for Scott Walker, Jeb Bush or Marco Rubio to beat.
Hillary’s “Grandma” demeanor is not what the country needs right now.
Please have Jeb Bush list the countries he wants to invade so he can match his father and brother in creating a war economy for his wealthy backers. They only managed to invade two countries each. I am sure Jeb can do three or more in a first term.
My mama said: War and religion go together like peas and carrots and Fox News.
Conservatives want cheap government even if it’s dysfunctional. Progressives want good government and are willing to pay for it. What’s the better deal – $10 for a beat-up used bicycle with rotted tires and no chain, or $20 for one ready to ride? Republicans answer wrong every time.
A preacher friend once told me that to understand the Republican Party in Kansas, you have to realize that to many of its adherents, it is accepted not as a political party but as a religion with which they’ve grown up. Many will exhibit unwavering faith in it.
I think it is time for our “governor” to declare all 105 counties in Kansas disaster areas.
I am on pins and needles awaiting Leonard Pitts Jr.’s column regarding Rachel Dolezal’s false claim of racial identity.
The American public is represented by an African-American president and other African-Americans at all levels of government. The American public includes many other races. Why is it so important to the NAACP that it be represented by an African-American person? Is that racist on its part?
